To mark the 15th anniversary of the influential magazine Monocle, there is now The Monocle Book of Photography, a coffee-table book of the finest photographs from the Monocle archive.<\/strong><\/p>\n In 2007, the first copies of Monocle magazine were in newsstands and newsstands around the world. At its core was the promise to get all original photography done - capturing the world on film, on the spot and in the moment. The cover of that first issue featured a Japanese defense force helicopter pilot - photographed as part of a 10-day reportage assignment for both photographer and writer. In the years since, Monocle has continued to document the world through its unique lens - from embassies and residences to world leaders and cultural stars.<\/p>\n Each issue has a special photographic Expo section that celebrates lesser-known locations, obscure events and curious characters through outstanding photography.
