The special collectible 'Andy Warhol's Interview: Best of the First Decade 1969-1979\u2032 is a seven-volume retrospective celebrating the first decade of Interview magazine. It features a selection of interviews and photographs, by Robert Mapplethorpe, Herb Ritts and Bruce Weber, among others, that defined the 1970s, with content ranging from fashion and film to music and pop culture. The collection includes interviews by Warhol himself and profiles of prominent figures of the era.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2,000 numbered copies of the collectible were printed. The object consists of a screen-printed wooden box with extendable handle and wheels, designed by Karl Lagerfeld. The 7 copies contains a selection of interviews and photographs of those who defined the 1970s from the original Interview magazine, reprinted in the same format as the original format. Illustrated by Robert Mapplethorpe, Francesco Scavullo, Herb Ritts, Ara Gallant, Peter Beard, Bruce Weber, Perry Berenson and others.<\/p>\n

Founded by Andy Warhol and Gerard Malanga in 1969, Interview magazine evolved from Studio 54's newsletter into the definitive guide to the stars of today and tomorrow. Interview's brilliant idea was to invite celebrities who might have been fans of each other's work to interview each other, often yielding intimate and revealing results.<\/p>\n
