Not for nothing did he call Amsterdam "my hunting ground. He photographed demonstrations, the market, the fair, traffic. But also workmen, rebellious youths and pretty girls. And 'dirty knoll merchants' who often cracked down on riots. The photographs he took in 'his city' between 1947 and 1970 he collected in the photobook Amsterdam, the first edition of which appeared in 1979. His innovative and disarming style made the book a classic. Now a reissue appears, for which new scans have been made of all the original negatives.

Specifications
Title: Ed van der Elsken: Amsterdam!
Publisher: Lecturis
Size: 307 x 297 x 23
Size: 240 pages
Weight: 1918 grams
Language: Dutch
Material: Softcover
ISBN: 9789462265585

View our extensive range of luxury Amsterdam books featuring urban photography, art, history, local makers and Amsterdam subjects.

'My Amsterdam.
