The spotlight is on the Bügel-Cabrio: for the first time, a book is dedicated to what is likely the most creative body style variant of the iconic Porsche 911 sports car. What began as a clever response to a growing need for safety in the 1960s quickly evolved into a brand of its own—the original concept for a new type of car.

The book *Porsche Targa* explores the inspiration behind the body concept, reveals the development process, guides the reader through the evolution of eight generations of the 911, and illustrates how the Targa concept was applied to the 914, Carrera GT, and 918 Spyder.
