The coffee table book "New Humans: Memories of the Future" is a timely exploration of artists' ongoing preoccupation with what it means to be human in the face of sweeping technological change. The book traces a diagonal history of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries through the work of more than 150 artists, writers, scientists, architects and filmmakers, focusing on key moments when profound technological and social changes gave rise to new conceptions of humanity and new visions of its possible future.
