‘Kodak’s Colorama Archive’ is an impressive coffee-table book that brings a unique chapter in the history of photography to life. This special edition brings together, for the first time, all 287 iconic Kodak Colorama photographs that were on display at New York’s famous Grand Central Terminal between 1950 and 1990.
For forty years, Kodak transformed the imposing Grand Central Terminal concourse into a gigantic open-air gallery, where monumental color photographs amazed travelers every day. The enormous photographs—at the time the largest photographic images ever publicly exhibited—demonstrated just how revolutionary color photography could be. From breathtaking landscapes and impressive nature scenes to everyday American life: each image was designed to demonstrate the power, clarity, and emotion of color on an unprecedented scale. In this deluxe edition, all 287 Colorama photographs have been reproduced in exceptional quality.
The book *Kodak’s Colorama Archive* thus offers not only a fascinating overview of the development of color photography, but also of the visual culture, advertising, design, and visual language of the second half of the twentieth century.
