The coffee table book "The Family of Migrants" brings together 200 poignant photographs - past and present - that tell universal and timeless stories about people on the run or on the move. The book presents iconic and unknown photographs by Lewis Hine, Dorothea Lange, Chien-Chi Chang, Abbas Attar, Wang Fuchun, Stephan Vanfleteren, Leonard Freed, Ara Güler, Ata Kandó, Robert de Hartogh and Ishiuchi Miyako, among others.

The book appears on the occasion of the opening of the FENIX museum in Rotterdam and is the companion work to the exhibition of the same name, where all the photographs from the book will be on display. The exhibition is inspired by "The Family of Man," the legendary 1955 exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York

The book is a tribute to the shared human experience. Through powerful images, it highlights themes of departure, travel, arrival, family, loss and love - experiences that connect people worldwide. The stunning images are enhanced by texts by Joumana El Zein Khoury, Stine Jensen, Hanneke Mantel, Rim Battal, Rodaan Al Galidi, Danny Ramadan, Anke Reitz, C Pam Zhang and Asma Khan, which offer depth and context.
