Salvador Dalí, one of the titans of modern painting, is the surrealist par excellence, but also a performer, designer and visionary. Salvador Dalí has become synonymous with surrealism. His soft watches, burning giraffes and lobster phones are like a natural dream language. But there are many other surprises hidden in his work. Dalí was driven by a will to engage with the world: in his exploration of the Catalan landscape or his reaction to the shock of the atomic bomb with paintings whose elements float side by side like the particles in atoms. This is accompanied by a chronological section with texts for each year. They tell the story of the art and the artist with many quotations from his own writings, letters and contemporary reviews, illustrated with rare and iconic portrait photographs, magazine articles, sketches and book illustrations, as well as additional works in various media.
